A Legacy of Dedication: Honoring Tertius Bosman and Nico Smit
As MegChem marks nearly three decades of success, we take a moment to honor two remarkable individuals who have been integral to our journey: Tertius Bosman (Director) and Nico Smit (Drawing office manager).
Tertius Bosman, a visionary leader and one of the pillars of MegChem, bids farewell as he embarks on a well-deserved retirement. Over the years, Tertius has exemplified steadfast commitment, innovative thinking, and an unwavering passion for excellence. In his heartfelt farewell message, Tertius reflected on his career, expressing gratitude for the camaraderie and friendships forged during his time at MegChem.
“Together, we experienced both triumphs and challenges, supporting one another through it all. That sense of solidarity created a safe haven, a place where no one had to face difficulties alone,”
Alongside Tertius, we celebrate Nico Smit, who has been part of the MegChem family since day one. Nico’s dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit have been a cornerstone of our success. Over the years, his consistency and loyalty have inspired countless colleagues and contributed to the thriving culture that defines MegChem.
Nico has also been one of the main driving forces in the success of the MegChem Cycling club which encourages employees to stay active in their private time and has gone on to host one of the biggest cycling events in the province the Cosmos 3-in-1 Mountain Bike Race.
As we bid farewell to Tertius and Nico on a nearly 30 years with MegChem, we are reminded of the values that unite us: teamwork, excellence, and a commitment to building something extraordinary together. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to both for their immense contributions and wish them a fulfilling and joyful retirement.

I was fortunate that Nico was present when I started my career in the drawing office. Nico was the section leader back in the day at Sastech, and he was the most patient leader I knew. It was more like a kindergarten centre, when all the young people would gather around Nico to ask for guidance and he would have the time and patience to help us by himself. He sometimes even had the time to go with us to site to show us how it should be done. I learned the meaning and importance of “ONWNERSHIP” from Nico and I will be forever grateful for that. To me, OWNRESHIP underscores all our core values which are, ACCOUNTABILITY, COMMITMENT, INNOVATION, EFFIIENCY and QUALITY.
I really wish both Nico and Tertius a joyful rest from the daily grind.
