MegChem’s First All Women Construction Team

As we celebrate Women’s Month, MegChem is proud to shine a spotlight on a groundbreaking achievement in our company’s history—the formation of our first all-women construction team on the Crude Oil Tank Project. This milestone is not only a testament to the immense talent and dedication of the women at MegChem but also a powerful statement of our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the engineering and construction industries.

The team is led by Thato Shingange, our dynamic Project Manager (PM), who has consistently demonstrated excellence in overseeing complex projects. Samkelisiwe Mthethwa serves as the Construction Manager (CM), bringing her vast experience and strategic vision to the forefront of this challenging endeavor. Ruth Tebele, our Field Engineer (FE), ensures that every detail of the construction process is executed to perfection, while Monique Crouwcamp, our Safety Officer, upholds the highest standards of health and safety on-site.

In the heart of our operations, Zanele Thabethe, our Handover Manager (HO) representative, ensures seamless coordination between the project site and our central office, facilitating efficient communication and decision-making. Finally, Juanita Van Der Merwe, our Engineering Manager (EM), provides the technical leadership and engineering expertise necessary to drive the project to successful completion.

This all-female team embodies the spirit of excellence, innovation, and resilience that is at the core of MegChem’s values. Their work on the Crude Oil Tank Project not only sets a new standard within our company but also serves as an inspiration to young women aspiring to enter the engineering and construction fields.

As we continue to celebrate Women’s Month, we honor the achievements of This team. Their hard work and dedication make them role models for us all, and their success is a testament to what can be achieved when talent is recognized and nurtured, regardless of gender.
